Thousands of film fans responded to the survey, which was posted on Fandango.com during the first weeks of December. According to male moviegoers, the most anticipated blockbuster of 2012 will be Warner Bros’ The Hobbit, while for females, it’s Summit’s Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2. When it comes to remakes, men are most anticipating Sony’s Total Recall while women are most looking forward to Warner Bros’ The Great Gatsby. Several studios are missing from these lists, so it looks like some marketing departments have to play catch-up in the coming months:

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are madly in love — and they don’t care who knows it! The Amazing Spider-Man costars — who have been dating since the spring — walked hand-in-hand through New York City’s East Village on Sunday, marking the first time the couple has shown affection in public. See more pictures of the couple on Just Jared. (Though Garfield has attended a handful of events with Stone in the past week, the couple refuses to be photographed together on the red carpet.) On Saturday, the pair was even seen buying jelly donuts and kissing each other at the Donut Pub, a source tells Us Weekly. What makes Garfield, 28, such a perfect match for Stone, 23? “Andrew is one of the most giving actors I’ve ever worked with,” The Help star told Teen Vogue in September. “If I needed to get to a place of love or sadness in a scene, he’d leave messages on my phone to replay, or slip in lines off camera for a different reaction than what was scripted. He gave me so much to react to.” Source: US Magazine

Emma Stone recently came to London to premiere The Help and talk to the press. Luckily, I got to sit down with her, and talk about a lot of good, chewy stuff. Not only is she the most consistently engaging young actor in studio films right now, Stone gives great interview too. As The Help is out today in UK cinemas, it’s the perfect time to share some of what she told me. Explosions are fun, but face the facts

Emma Stone felt “pressured” for ‘The Help’ to do well because it is based on her mother’s favorite book. The 22-year-old actress plays Eugenia ‘Skeeter’ Phelan’ in the forthcoming movie, which is based on Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel and admits the fact people are such fans of the literary work raises expectations which she had to force herself to ignore. She said: “There’s an extra-weight of responsibility [because the book is so popular]. To make matters worse, it’s my mom’s favorite book. That’s the definition of pressure, right there. “But you have to put all this aside and forget about the millions of people out there waiting to say, ‘Huh, I didn’t see Skeeter like that! Why didn’t they get X to play the role?’ If you obsess about what these people might think, you’d never get out of bed.” Despite the expectations, Emma enjoyed filming the movie and says she learned a lot from her co-stars, including viola Davis and Jessica Chastain. She said: “I learned so much from the other cast members. I’ve only been acting for five years so when I’m around more experienced actors, I feel like a sponge, just soaking up whatever I can from them. “With ‘The Help’ I think one of the reasons we had such fun filming was because we were surrounded by women and didn’t have to worry about how we looked to men.” Source: Winnipeg Free Press

EMMA Stone is “addicted” to reading about herself in newspapers and magazines. The 22-year-old actress is also obsessed with the internet, but she is “terrified” of saying something in an online environment that she will later live to regret. “I’m not one of these people that must disassociate themselves from it or has to cut it off. Other than I get addicted to it, so I have to do it in moderation!” she said. “I get addicted to the internet. I have a twitter account. I look at it a lot but I don’t tweet. I’d be terrified that I’d say something and never be able to live it down.” However, the Help actress admits she finds it “alienating” when her fans recognize her when she’s out and about because it makes her feel like a “zoo animal”. “When people say something, it’s really nice. But when people whisper or point, and you feel like you’re a zoo animal, then it’s scary and odd, because it’s alienating,” she said. Source: Showbiz Spy

Emma Stone is scared to use Twitter… in case she says the wrong thing. The 22-year-old actress is happy to read about herself online though – in fact, she’s addicted. “I’m not one of these people that must disassociate themselves from it or has to cut it off. Emma Stone thinks Hollywood has grown more conservative as studio bosses are afraid of causing offence. Emma Stone thinks Hollywood is growing more conservative. The ‘Help’ actress believes many movies that were made in the 1970s would not be commissioned these days as studio bosses are too afraid of “offending” anyone. She said: “It concerns me that movies seem to be getting more and more conservative and watered down. “I see movies made in the 70s such as ‘Network’ that I really don’t think would get made today. Amovie that calls the audience to task for sitting glued to their screens, believing everything they’re told by the media? That would be considered too challenging today. Nobody wants to risk offending the viewers. “Movies need broad appeal to succeed and bosses don’ want to alienate anyone.” Emma, 22, believes many actors censor themselves to an extent where it has a severe impact on their performances. She added: “I even hate it when people censor themselves. You can always tell when an actor has grown a ‘rhino skin’ to protect themselves. It comes across on screen and they aren’t believable. “They’re dead in the eyes because they’ve been told a million times that they’re the greatest actor that ever lived. If you don’t realise what’s happening and get your feet back on the ground, it can be the worst thing that ever happens to you.” Source: Contact Music

1 Gorgeous Emma Stone (22) is Hollywood’s newest leading lady and takes the main role in the eagerly awaited movie The Help, the adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s bestselling novel about African-American maids working in white households. Opening here next week, Stone plays Skeeter Phelan, a journalist living in Mississippi in the 1960s. 2 Emma’s full name is Emily Jean Stone. But there was already an Emily Stone registered at the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG). 3 Emma confessed to People that when she has down time, she prefers to do nothing: “I’m lazy beyond belief — my favourite thing to do when I’m not working is sit around.” 4 She convinced her parents to let her move to Hollywood and pursue acting by making a PowerPoint presentation with Madonna’s song Hollywood as the soundtrack. 5 Emma has gushed about her favourite guilty treat being the meatball and mozzarella-flavoured microwave turnovers, Hot Pockets. 6 The Help is Emma’s first movie adapted from a book. Her film Easy A has a similar theme to the Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850 romantic novel The Scarlett Letter, but is not a true adaptation. 7 Emma dropped out of high school at 15 to pursue acting full-time. She eventually finished her studies via home schooling. 8 Stone shies away from social networking. She deleted her Facebook account “I got addicted to FarmVille, so had to get off,” Emma has said. Looking for Emma Stone’s Twitter? She doesn’t have one of those either. 9 Emma and her mum wanted to get matching tattoos based on her mum’s favourite song Blackbird. Emma wrote a letter to Paul McCartney telling of her mother surviving breast cancer, and he sketched a bird feet design and sent it back to them. 10 ”My hair grows out of my head blonde, but I usually dye it red,” Emma has said. After Judd Apatow suggested she go red for his movie Superbad, she liked it so much she stuck with it. Yet you can see her blonde locks when she plays Gwen in the new Spiderman blockbuster. >suzy belton Source: Herald.ie |
